Whelan Ignition Interlock Bill -- Ricci's Law -- Signed

1/14/2010 - Acting Governor Steve Sweeney signs “Ricci’s Law” – a bill sponsored by Senator Jim Whelan, D-Atlantic, to require certain first, second and subsequent offenders under the State’s driving while intoxicated laws to install an ignition interlock device – at the home or Richard and Sherri Branca, who’s son, Ricci, was killed by a repeat drunken driver and whose death served as inspiration for the measure.
