SENATE DEMOCRATS GIVE CHRISTIE FAILING GRADES ON HIS RECORD ON WOMEN'S ISSUES
TRENTON - At a news conference today in the New Jersey Statehouse, Senate President Steve Sweeney and Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg unveiled a report card, grading Governor Chris Christie's record on women's issues -- from women's health care funding, to pay equity, to access to after school programs.
The news conference was attended by Senate President Pro Tempore Nia H. Gill, D-Essex, who spoke about her efforts to enact a health care exchange to provide greater health coverage for uninsured New Jerseyans, and Senator Linda Greenstein, D-Middlesex and Mercer, who spoke about her own experiences promoting funding for women's health care at a time when the Governor slashed it from the budget. Senators Teresa Ruiz, D-Essex, and Sandra Bolden Cunningham, D-Hudson, as well as women's issues advocates, also attended the news conference.
